With the lone guard dispatched, Whitenoise takes off towards the mall, and we’ve no alternative ourselves. The mall is large, empty, and only partially furnished, providing a lot of environmental distractions. As planned, our comms are restricted while inside, as will the guards be.

• By the time the guards arrive, we’re in cover all around the entrance, and just before they can stumble upon Hawkeye, Bob’s drones reveal themselves and start suppressive fire. Styx summons a giant Fire Spirit, and thankfully it and the drones prove a much more pressing target for the guards to unload into (rather than squishy us), which lets us see their weapons are quite serious.

• Raptor executes a perfect plunging attack with his… leg… and that turns the tide in our favour.

The Race

• Styx and Hawk eye have arrived to the race at the Barrens
  • Styx summons a very eager spirit that arrives to help
  • Hawkeye is given an AR tag to display the route that they are going
  • The Rival shows up in a nice muscle car, Hawkeye taunts them
• The race begins
  • The rival pulls ahead, with Hawkeye staying with the pack
  • The first turn arrives and one of the other racers is trying to T-bone Hawkeye, to which they speed away, causing the other driver to undercut and crash
  • Moments later, there is a gun being pulled in Hawkeyes face
    • Styx magically manipulates them to shoot their own driver, a loud bang and ka-thunk is heard and moments later, the car explodes from the grenade being launched by the grenade launcher
  • Hawkeye keeps going, avoiding others and eventually pulling into third
    • They are pulling into Bellevue, which is one of the nicer areas of Seattle and is very unusual
    • Guards are yelling at the racers and running into a building
    • A checkpoint is here
      • Hawkeye speeds up, overtaking second and getting on the tail of the first, a turn is coming up, so Hawkeye slows down
